A Must Try : Nasi Ayam Penyet

Hi Food Lovers!!! I am Hemaa, one of the avid bloggers of WeLoveFood.
Today, I am going to be featuring to you one of my all time favourites, Nasi Ayam Penyet.
I still remember it was not long ago, when this Indonesian favourite got introduced to Singapore. And it was the start of “Nasi Ayam Penyet” craze.

It seems as though it has almost become inevitable to not come across a Nasi Ayam Penyet stall in that very familiar coffeeshop of yours or that restaurant you remembered never sold this dish and all of a sudden, it is sold there and hungry people are flocking to that place , indulging and buying them like hot pancakes. It is not surprising that I belong to such group of people. Maybe, you can call us the “Nasi Ayam Penyeters”.

Sounds odd but that’s how much people have come to love this dish . And it all began for me with the Nasi Ayam Penyet sold at Aiman CafĂ©.
Aiman Cafe is a coffee shop situated at Block 235, Jurong East St 21, #01-320, patronised by many who live in Jurong East .
Aiman Cafe

It is no surprise to see that Aiman Cafe is often crowded during lunch hours or any other time of the day. This could be due to the fact that the KTM Indonesian Food Stall offers Nasi Ayam Penyet that is sure to whet your appetite and suit any taste bud.
KTM Indonesian Food sells Nasi Ayam Penyet that is certainly different from the original indonesian style of Ayam Penyet.
Nasi Ayam Penyet
The Nasi Ayam Penyet has the standard feremented soyabean cake and toufu accompanying it.
However, the large portion of deep fried chicken fried to perfection and the sambal blachan (spicy chilli paste) are the show stealers. The fried chicken comes with a drizzle of a sweet black sauce (not sure what sauce it is) that makes the chicken even more appetising. The sauce can have you licking your fingers . That is how good the sauce is .Furthermore, the sambal belachan chilli-relish is not overly spicy and does not overwhelm your taste buds. It has a perfect mixture of spiciness and sweetness, which will leave you yearning for more of it. Besides this, you can also request your chicken to be fried slightly crispier and even have a “bagudael”; a potato filled pattie that is oh so creamy and smooth when eaten. Besides Nasi Ayam Penyet, this stall also offers other delectable dishes such as ,Ikan Ayam Penyet, Soto Ayam which are all worth the try and also affordable as well.
Overall, you all should give this a try and it come at an affordable price of $4.50 for a generous amount of food served. So next time you are wandering around Jurong East , stop by and try this wonderful dish!!!!
